NRL Players from Otahuhu College

This website we will be looking at some upcomming NRL stars that attended Otahuhu College.

Roger Tuivasa Sheck-Born in Apia, Samoa, Tuivasa-Sheck attended Otahuhu College in Auckland, New Zealand, where he played both rugby union and rugby league. Tuivasa-Sheck represented the New Zealand rugby union schoolboy team and captained Otahuhu College at the New Zealand Rugby League's Secondary Schools tournament in 2011[3] before being signed by the Sydney Roosters."

Sione Ngalu Afemui-Like his older brother David Afemui, Sione too is a tough forward although he prefers to play in the middle of the field rather than on the edge. The New Zealand native idolises Josh Papalii and is determined to make his mark in the forwards this year.

John Wesley Tauti-Wesley as he prefers to be called had an outstanding 2013 season and decided to trial for the NZ Warriors in their open trial in November. He did extremely well and was one of only three players to be invited to train with the Warriors over the pre-season. He impressed the coaching staff so much that they decided to sign him through until 2015.

Watson Heleta-An extremely promising lock forward who runs great lines, strong defender and recently got called and signed up by the Junior WestTigers

Viliami Lolohea-This young winger out of Otahuhu College made 4 appearances for the Vodafone Junior Warriors as an 18 year old in 2011 and at 19 years old he was a major part of the 2012 campaign for the Junior Warriors. Viliami was named the MVP of the 2011 NZ Secondary School Rugby League Nationals after leading his Otahuhu College team to the National title. He was a member of the NZRL U18 team in 2011 and he will again help spearhead the Juniors Warriors push for another title in 2013. He is blessed with real speed and is also very elusive runner which makes him the prolific try scorer he is. Viliami signed to play Rugby Union with the Canterbury Crusaders and the Tasman Mako’s for the 2014. Unfortunately for Viliami he ruptured his ACL while training and will not be available to play until late in the year. He is still under contract with Tasman for the 2015 season.

Kalolo Saitaua-This young man is the “real deal” and was chased by a number of NRL clubs before he decided to sign with the Broncos. He was selected for the NZRL U16 Residents team that toured Australia at the end of 2012 and he has been a member of the Auckland Vulcan’s Junior team for the last three years and has been selected again for the 2013 Australian tour. He is the outstanding hooker in his age group in Auckland and New Zealand but can also play lock. He is very skillful player who is also deceptively strong. He signed with the Brisbane Broncos in 2013 and moved to Queensland where he played Mal Meninga Cup for Norths Devils in 2013 and played two games for the Broncos NYC team at the end of the 2013 season. Keep an eye out for this young man as he will feature prominently again in 2014.
